I am super crafty. I learned to crochet when I was four and have taught myself sewing, cross stitching, knitting, tatting, quilting and I may venture into lace making soon if my lovely husband doesn't stop me :)
I also love to cook and bake. I have a tendency to add cheese to every savory recipe I make. I love cheese. I've also recently developed an obsession with homemade caramel.
We have an adorable/poorly behaved miniature dachshund named Zelda. She's a little terror but so cute that it's hard to get angry at her.
My favorite colors are BLUE and green.
Crochet is my first love, it's what I always go back to. I even won a blue ribbon last year at the state fair for a bonnet I made. I'm not terribly picky about types of yarn. I know there are a lot of people who hate acrylic yarn but it can turn out some really nice projects.
I love vintage patterns. LOVE. There is something about the old patterns that just makes me happy. Even if later I curse the pattern because it takes me a while to reinterpret their wording :)
I'm starting to get more into more needle based things like embroidery, needlepoint, and I've always have a cross stitch project going.
Anything handmade, as an avid crafter I really appreciate the time and love that goes into making things.
Anime. My husband and I are huge anime nerds. He likes giant robot stuff but I love ridiculous things and pretty boys, lol.
Cheese, cheese, cheese. The reason I could never be vegan. I'm a vegetarian now and I could give up everything else but cheese is non-negotiable.
Recipes, any recipes, but especially things good for potlucks, appetizers, dessert and stuff with cheese in it. I even like meat recipes here and there. I won't eat them but I will make them.
The holidays. I love Christmas and Thanksgiving(so much food!) are my favorites but I really just love anything themed for just about any holiday. Holiday things just tickle me.
Yarn, thread, fabric, patterns. Anything to make my projects. Especially since I end up buying the same things, it's nice to get things other people pick out. I'm not picky and I'm really good at finding uses for everything.
Repurposed stuff. This one kind of irritates my husband, oops. I have a hard time throwing away trash that we generate a lot of like bottle caps and toilet paper rolls and plastic bags. I have a huge stash of those. I have ideas for them but I also love to see what other people come up with. It also gives me a warm fuzzy to know that we saved it from a landfill fate.
Video games, especially vintage video games- like 16bit and before. The tables at our wedding were all named after video game characters and the table markers were cross stitched pictures of each one. They lend themselves well to patterns because the pixels are so easy to reproduce.
Dachshunds. I always had them growing up and hubby and I have one of our own. They're such hilarious dogs.
Science stuff. My husbands I met in grad school for molecular genetics. I have a healthy appreciation for science related stuff.
I'm a nerd. Science, video games, anime, I love them. Holidays, crafting, cooking, them too. You'll always win my heart with something blue too.
