I am an early 20-something freshly out of university, and working in Austin, TX as an environmental geologist...I'm kind of like Captain Planet. I help people clean up their messes and make the environment beautiful again. I also make jewelry on the side. I love using unique beads and precious stones. I will often search antique shops for antique jewelry and broaches that can be taken apart and made into something new and one-of-a- kind. Hopefully I'll have a website up soon so you can check it out...maybe buy a little somethin', who knows! I love to travel, and I've lived in many places around the world. My favorite so far being Aix-en-Provence, France; I definitely miss it! If anyone wants to send some Kinder Bueno Bars my way, please do! I am also very into cooking. I love experimenting in the kitchen, and creating dishes influenced from many different cultures. I’ll eat just about anything except for peanut butter, lima beans, and licorice. I love meeting new people, and trying new things, so I’m excited to see what comes from this swapping network!
I like any music with a good beat. You also can't go wrong if the song has clapping or a horn section in it.
I love to read, and I like all kinds of books. One of my favorite authors is Gabriel Garcia Marquez. 100 Years of Solitude is a masterpiece. My current read is "The Omnivore's Dilemma", a must read for any American. You will learn all of the wonderful terrors of our food industry, it is insane.
I LOVE movies. Before I decided to become a geologist and make money, I was a film major. I can't pick a favorite, but I can list a few: Kill Bill 1&2, The Man Who Would Be King, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Life is Beautiful, True Romance, The Princess Bride, Cool Hand Luke, Dr. Strangelove, Interstella 5555, Zombieland, Marx Brother's Movies, and zombie movies.
The colors pink, purple, blue and yellow, traveling, food, french, the outdoors, water sports, brunch, rum, tequila, wine, running, local organic foods, cooking, baking, other cultures, art (modern, abstract, impressionist, and photography), live music, fashion, vintage fashion, shoes, science, the beach, hiking, camping, kitchen appliances, life in general.
Closed minded people, licorice, jelly beans, religion, that Twilight business, bad drivers, things scented like fruit, birds (the animal itself is disgusting, loud, disease ridden, and poos on everything. I actually quite like pictures and drawings of birds), people's random obsession with celebrities’ lives, and I think that's it...not a whole lot bothers me.
Interesting beads, antique or old pieces of jewlery, candies from where you live, tea or popular spices from where you live, popular snack from where you live, postcards, books, art, RECIPES!! (a popular dish from where you live or your favorite dish), something that represents your culture, and music. And anything unique and interesting that i might have never seen before!
