I'm a single mom, a student, an advisor, a dedicated worker, a crafter, an artist, a lover of all things art-especially Monet. I'm a dreamer, a believer, most importantly an achiever. I am me - a jack of all trades.
I am a HUGE fan of all things sixties and early seventies, especially the music. My grandmother had me listening to The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Three Dog Night, and Fleetwood Mac before I could even talk, and I've passed the same love down to my four year old. I think she's even a bigger Bob Dylan fan than I am, actually. I also listen to heavy metal/rock, mostly of the Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson variety.
Crocheting is probably the most relaxing and portable, but I also scrapbook, draw, watercolor paint, sew, make tutus and hairbows (who doesn't, nowadays? ♥), woodburn, and decoupage. The only thing I really don't do is quilt - I can do it, I just don't have the patience.
I'm not a huge television fan, as I grew up without one (or central heat and air, for that matter). I also get frustrated if I don't have something to do - passive activities drive me crazy. However, if I'm crocheting or drawing while watching, I do like House MD, Rescue Me, and Ghost Hunters. I'm also a CSI fan, but the shows tend to be repetitive.
I looooove to read! I prefer classics and books they would make you read as assignments in high school and college - Barnes and Noble (in America, anyway) actually have a stand which they keep these on and I'm slowly working on collecting them. I also love non-fiction parenting and craft books, as well as anything art or history related. As a child, I read almost a book a day. As an adult, I read as often as I have the time.
♥♫ Other little tidbits about me ♫♥
My favorite colors are olive green, brown, and orange. I collect 60's and 70's vintage items - especially kitchen gadgets as well as little decorations. I have a love for handmade jewelry, mostly of the wooden bead and quoted charm variety. I recently became a single mother, work full-time, and also go to school full-time. When I graduate, I plan to teach art and continue into the Masters program so I can teach college.
