A great big hello from Idaho/and or Utah! We raised our seven children on our farm, growing the famous Idaho potatoes! My husband and I have an RV trailer and love to camp and travel around to various National Parks and Monuments. We love to hike and bike, and enjoy the great outdoors.
I love most the music my mother used to play on the old 33 1/3 records. The Platters, Lettermen, Doris Day, Kate Smith, (betcha haven't heard any of these). I also enjoy the oldies western music, Eddie Arnold, Glen Campbell, etc. I really like most music, except hard rock, rap, and Jazz. I love musicals and attend any performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat I can (I love how each director portrays the characters, costumes and scenes.)
I like to read a wide variety of books, and belong to a book group. We read both fiction and non-fiction books and both adult and young adult books. My most favorite book of all time is "Moonraker's Bride" by Madeleine Brent. I love Louis L'Amour westerns, "I Am The Clay" by Chaim Potok, "The Long Walk" by Slavomir Rawicz, and books by Jane Austen, and Agatha Christy.
I don't watch R rated movies, I don't care for the sex, language, and violence. There is plenty of that in PG-13 movies. I do love action, and suspense however: Indiana Jones, Mission Impossible, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Sommersby (romance). More recently, The Help (loved the book too), and the Hunger Games (loved those books also).
I am addicted to Survivor, Castle, The Mentalist and Person of Interest. During the lunch hour my husband and I watch Who Wants to be a Millionaire and at dinner time we watch Wheel of Fortune. Past favorites were The Scarecrow and Mrs. King (does anyone remember this series?), and Little House on the Prairie.
I make quite a few quilts for grandchildren, very simple altered nine patch variations, and whole cloth with a few borders. I love bright colors, especially if it has a black background. Orange is my least favorite color, other than that I love all colors. Most of my quilts are tied! I love crocheting around receiving blankets most of all. I am not into crafting much anymore, I do however appreciate other peoples talents. ATC's, and decorated envelopes sound facinating to me and would make my Wish List.
Novelty buttons, decorated envelopes, ATC's, notecards, small notebooks, chocolate, postcards, bookmarks, stamps (used is great), smashed pennies, used gift cards and phone cards (with no balance on them), 5x5 cotton fabric squares, coins from other countries, hand-carved rubber stamps, valentines, paper napkins (any odd ones leftover from an event). Any odd keys laying around, front page of sports page (even non-english). Favorite colors are blue and green (any shades thereof). Yellow is great too! Red, purple, most any color. I love anything Suzy's Zoo, butterflies, dragonflies, and farm related stuffs (yes, stuffs).
Swearing, crude language, nudity, incense, NO TEA (please :) Skulls, goth and darker themes, grasshoppers (exception is Jimminy Cricket). Nooooo grasshoppers (shudder)! SpongeBob Square Pants is just as bad as grasshoppers!
I like almost any type of postcard, but over-sized are my least favorite. Regular 4x6 is preferred. Actually, any nudity (even in art) is a no-no! Postcards are the only thing I like naked :). Written on and stamped, of course. I LOVE: National Parks; UNESCO sites; books and book illustrations, especially children's books; US state capitol buildings; US state mapcards; anything patriotic; famous people and not-so-famous people; royalty; fantasy; Disney; sports related. Please tell me a little about what (who) is pictured on the postcard. The message on the back of the pc is as important to me as the picture on the front. Thanks!
