Years ago I used to just lose myself in a book for hours. I love being immersed in a compelling story. I recently re-read The Book Thief, which has become one of my all time favorite books. I think it's a masterpiece, although the narrator annoyed me at times, the second time I just skimmed over the preface to get back to this compelling little girls story. Now I am looking for a good suspense novel, in the vein of Harlan Coben or Ken Follet. We just watched the Pillars Of The Earth, and it reminded me of how much I love his novels. I love the cool, crisp days of autumn after the 'dog days of summer' - it is such a nice change. The leaves turning colors and huge colorful mums, football, fires, and jackets - It's great. :-)
Ah! Fall is my favorite season. One of the many reasons is that it is the time of harvest, of preparing the home for the upcoming winter months. It is the feeling of comfort for me, the scents, sights, the feel of the cool Autumn breeze upon my skin, bringing the smells of the earth.
