09/03/2013 Note: Dealing with big home renovations at the moment, so I've dropped out from all but a couple swaps. It may take me a bit longer to respond since my computer is displaced right now (and it's hard to respond on my phone), but I will get back to you. Thanks!
I live with my fella and three cats (Ramona, Abraham, and the Doctor) in California where I enjoy reading, trashy TV shows, thrifting, DnD, Comedy Bang Bang, and irony.
I am learning how to be a real adult with many important things to do. We just moved into a house that needs a whole lot of fixer-upping. Plus I have to sweep my floor every day. I'm not good at this game.
I love making things! So far Swap-Bot has really helped me push my boundaries and try different mediums and techniques.
I love embroidery (not that great at it, but learning!), ATCs, zines, paper-crafting, found object/mixed media art.
In the past couple years I discovered the awesomeness of junk/SMASH books. I am always on the lookout for really cool things, and I finally found a place to smooosh them into! Otherwise my place would wallpapered with tiny things. Plus it gives me a good alternative to traditional scrapbooking, which I like the idea of, but doesn't often suit my personal aesthetic.
Lastly I really really really enjoy photography, especially film photography on weird/lomography cameras. I did finally embrace phoneography on my smart phone, but usually have at least one other camera on me. I have a modest collection of old cameras that I am constantly fiddling with to try and cram 35mm film into. I also have a few 120/110 cameras I love using.
I have a problem where I think because I tried something one time that I am automatically so good at it. For example I think I'd make an excellent woodworker because. Also I have a book about it, so. However my motto is "measure once, cut twice!" so you can see how that might be a problem.
Also I can't draw. It's totally my worst flaw.
Here's my list things I enjoy/collect for anyone who might need suggestions or themes, but I'm seriously totally not picky and love being surprised:
-Handmade things! I sometimes feel it's selfish to say I like handmade things because I know the time it can take to make something far exceeds the amount of money one might spend for something similar. But all my favorite possessions are things that have been handmade, and it's such a delight to receive.
-Dice, especially oddly-sided gaming (DnD) dice
-Colors: favs are greys and blues (think the sky after the rain), I'm learning to enjoy brighter colors, but I don't think I'll ever be a fan of pastels.
-Tabletop gaming (especially Dungeons and Dragons, Munchkin, and Cards Against Humanity)
-All types of art to add to my pretentious gallery walls (as a note, if you draw fan art, I would love to receive Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, My Neighbor Totoro [Catbus!!], Community, Parks and Rec., Tim and Eric)
-A man with a beard made of bees
-Feathers! - I like local found feathers (as long as they are legal to possess). I use and display them in shadowboxes and jewelry. I just love looking at them!
-Cats (especially Bobcats, bobtails, and manx - anything without a tail is rad), Owls, Narwhals, Bumblebees, Brontosauruses, Whales, Quails, Blue Jays/birds, bats, stingrays and manta rays and bat rays
-Doctor Who (newWho fan - love 10 and 11!)
-Paul F Tompkins
-Legos (I know the plural is "Lego", but I never said "Let's go play Lego!" as a kid, haha)
-Andy Kaufman
-PA Dutch style images/art
-Ed Emberley
-Taxidermy
-Pokemon (I've played every main game, and am excited for X/Y!)
-Smashed/pressed pennies/coins
-rocks and minerals
-ALL THE CHOCOLATE, except white chocolate. Local candies of all kinds are awesome - I love trying stuff like that.
-50's style postcards of city/state/locations (usually I just collect modern reprints)
-old/tiny glass bottles
-real sea glass
-library related things
-tea
-Cryptozoology (Bigfoot, jackalopes, Jersey Devil, etc. Especially local stuff)
-handmade journals/books
-Steampunk/Industrial styles, Apothecary/Sciency-y flora and fauna styles
-Snarkiness, but it needs to come from a place of (secret) love
Some things I'd love to fangirl out on with others via snailmail because I don't have enough people to do that with in my life!
-Television: Doctor Who, Community, Parks and Rec, Comedy Bang Bang, Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job, Degrassi, Ghost Adventures (for the delightful badness and bro-ness of it all)
-Celebrity boyfriends: Viggo Mortensen, Adam Scott, David Tennant, Nick Offerman, Paul F. Tompkins
-Reading: Harry Potter series, Tolkien, Axe Cop
-Film: Doctor Horrible, LOTR
I am on the hunt for rock, mineral, and gem postcards of all types, especially ads for conventions and shows, or state or region specific.
I like photos or illustrations of the rocks/minerals. This is one of my favs: http://flic.kr/p/efnBy4
Pretty new to swapping postcards still, but reading other people's profiles have given me ideas to put here.
I prefer them to be sent naked rather than in an envelope (unless the swap rules say so).
I enjoy all types, really, from the typical scenic photo to art/weird/joke cards. I don't mind nudity, as long as it's not totally explicit. I'm ok with political, dark, tacky, nonsensical, offensive! I also don't mind Zazzle cards.
I do like to collect those vintage-y looking ones with the bubble letters for states, cities, and countries. I also collect the 50's reprinted state park cards.
I would also enjoy vintage (blank or written on), scientific flora and fauna illustrations, weird tourist stops, contemporary art, and feathers if you have any of those cards in your collection.

Just wanted to stop by and say hello. I'm in the "Quickly Postcard Swap #2" with you and you can't always write everything you want on a postcard ;) I saw that you love handmade journals, I actually make those and give out as gifts to family members quite a bit. They're just fun to make because they are so personal and so many ways to create them. Have a wonderful day :) You should receive my PC soon.
I'm so glad you liked your surprise postcard :) We go gem mining twice a year. so much fun.
Meant to tell you about Urban Threads. If you love Sublime Stitching, UT is prolly gonna rock your world :) They have super stitching designs, steampunk even.
