PS--I forgot to mention in my note that I love the shape and color of candy corn, too. I don't really eat them, but its humble, funny little shape is so pleasing to me. We once agreed to decorate our friend's Halloween party, and were completely taken aback when she LIT the big candy corn candle we brought. LIT IT! As though it were a common taper!
We never quite recovered from that. Candy corn murder, that's what that was.

I am so sad I missed the Hollywood Forever cemetery screening of Arsenic and Old Lace this summer--we didn't go because we'd just been to a film there the week before, but that particular film would have been so perfect to see in those surroundings. Oh well, Mortimer Brewster will just have to make his usual Halloween appearance on our television instead...
