Description:

I might be starting a series of poetry swaps. I love to write and I think this would be a great way to nurture your writing skills, as well as sharing and meeting new people.

For this swap, you'll write a traditional haiku. 5,7,5 syllables.

based on the theme "November".

So, any fall, leaves, Thanksgiving, blessings, cold, nature, seasons, etc is ok.

Remember this s a poem that YOU write, so please don't try to pass one off the internet as your own.

You will send to 5 partners via email.

All are welcomed.

**Question: Do you think this would be better as a postcard swap or email?

Enjoy!

Question: how many syllables in "grey"? In Danish you can only have one vowel in each syllable.

@mooncastle That's a good question. The kind of thing I like to puzzle out. ;>) on first look i thought one syllable but then remembered - I think you call them dipthongs so gr would be one syllable and I think ey would make another syllable. So I would quess grey has two syllable although it sounds like one. I don't really know for sure. Would love to hear what others think.

A diphthong is when you have two vowel sounds in one syllable.

Wikipedia: "A diphthong ( /ˈdɪfθɒŋ/ or /ˈdɪpθɒŋ/;[1] Greek: δίφθογγος, diphthongos, literally "two sounds" or "two tones"), also known as a gliding vowel, refers to two adjacent vowel sounds occurring within the same syllable". (Ref: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diphthong).

So, by definition, a diphthong is one syllable. :)
