Description:

By definition, 'oddity' is a noun that refers to 'a strange or peculiar person, thing or trait' and definitely, we all are in a certain way :-), but this swap is to celebrate that peculiar trait/thing we long for.

Basics:

  • You will list in the comments' section at least, 5 options of ''odd'' things you would like to have (list what you consider odd, even if that is ''stars'' for you.

  • The challenge will be to send as much flat oddity as possible, theming at least 1 of the options your partners listed (stickers, random papers, postcards, notecards, cut-outs, bookmarks, handmade items, etc) or a ''combo'' with some of the given options

  • Note this: When I said ''as much'', it means, try to stay flat to save shipping budget but it will be up to each sender if sending something not flat

  • Minimum quantity to include in your envelope is 5 flat items (new or like new condition)

  • You will have 2 partners

  • Make sure you provide a great happy mail experience

  • Do not forget to write your SB ID and the swap's name

  • Swap category #3 due shipping cost component

  • I will angel the swap but I do hope it does not get necessary!!

Disclaimer: The swap will take place if we reach at least 4 participants, otherwise, it will be canceled.

This sounds like fun....great idea @mgallardo68 My requested oddities include: 1. Freak Show/ Sideshow carnival ephemera, images, items (strongman, bearded lady, etc...but NO clowns at all please!)

  1. Gypsy themed goodies (fortune tellers, caravans, bohemian style)

  2. Doll parts for art dolls (especially heads/ faces!)

  3. Unusual larger stickers think 2 inches (5 cm) or larger. For example:

  1. Unusually shaped postcards, or postcards with weird and unusual pictures/images on them, like Gotochi postcards, or really any shape at all. I don't mind if they are regular size or oversize!

  2. Eyes. Images of, stickers, stamps, doll parts, charms, paper, etc...anything that features an eye in some artistic way, or is, itself an eye that can be used in artwork

  3. Little plastic gum ball machine containers...you know the type you get prizes in out of those little money pits when you go out of the grocery store? I'd love to have some in all sizes, with or without the surprises. Obviously this is t a flat item, but it's an odd one so I figured it couldn't hurt to add it, lol!

OMgoodness. Last post here! I do not know why swap-bot renumbered my items, but i did list 7. Then apparently my iPad autocorrected what I typed and I didn't catch it. Sorry, wish I could delete!

  • Paper scraps that fall into ''odd'' category (any size literally)

Yippie yay, you got your fourth swapper! :D Awesome swap! Let's embrace our oddities. What I find odd:

  • my obscure fascination with serial killers
  • strange combinations of organic and artificial body parts
  • eye balls in places where they normally don't belong
  • Gamelan music from Indonesia
  • East Asian classical art
  • Lars von Trier movies
  • my extremely obscure fascination with creature features and all kinds of gigantic monstrosities
  • stuffed animals/taxidermy
  • the Kunstkammer in St. Petersburg
  • the Cthulhu myth
  • my inexplicably bad luck when rolling dice

That's it for now, but maybe I come up with more? We'll see!
