I'm not sure if that's been done before, but let's give it a try. If it works well, maybe I can do a type 2 version of it.

Swap guidelines:

  • You will have 2 partners.

  • In your email, you will send 3 statements about yourself, along with a description of these statements. One of these statements must be a LIE.

  • The statements must be something about yourself: something that has happened to you, a trip you took, how you got your last haircut, etc. (See comments for examples of statements)

  • Once you receive your partners' statements, you will rate them and also try to guess which statement was the lie.

  • Once you have been rated by BOTH partners, you will go back to your rating and give them the answer. That means you will need to rate promptly so your partner can give you the answer.

I will check profiles before assigning partners. Newbies with a profile are welcome, but must have logged in a minimum of 24 hours prior to the partners being assigned.

Example of statements (along with an example of a description): (These are not the ones I will be using! They're not even true, anyway. Well, one of them is! ;-) )

1- I once broke my leg falling down the stairs.

This happened when I visited my grandparents' house. I was 6 years old. I liked sleeping in the attic when I visited. It had really steep steps leading up and down. One morning, my grandmother called me for breakfast. I ran down the stairs, but, unfortunately, I missed a step and took quite a tumble. I landed heavily on my leg, on the landing. My grandfather brought me to the hospital and I was in a cast for a few weeks.

2- As a child, I was afraid of stepping on the side walk cracks because I was afraid the earth would swallow me whole.

I used to walk everywhere with my mom or my babysitter. We lived in an area of the town where everything was close so, if we needed something, we'd just walk. One day, my mom noticed that I was making sure I walked OVER the cracks in the sidewalk. She asked me why I did that and I explained to her that I was scared that the sidewalk would open and the Earth would swallow me whole. She laughed and said that wouldn't happen but I wasn't so sure. I did eventually grow out of the phase, but even today, I can't help but tempt fate by stepping on the crack. You know... just to see!

3- I once drank an entire gallon of milk in 2 minutes.

I was watching an episode of Friends and saw Joey attempting to prove that he could do it. Of course, I wanted to see if it was possible in real life. So, I went to the fridge and got new gallon of milk my mom had bought. My brothers watched me as I drank most of the gallon. I got so full that I just couldn't take another gulp. Needless to say, I felt sick for hours afterwards!

I remember that episode. He just spilled most of the milk and it took him longer than 2 minutes anyway. Haha ;)

I like the idea! It will be a fun swap :D
