Description:

There are a lot of swaps on swap-bot for written in journals/art journals/etc. that look like a lot of fun but also very time intensive. I'm scared of writing a journal with 20+ entries, and putting hours of work into it, only to be flaked on. Plus, there is the whole idea of writing a journal for someone else, and how honest can you really be?

This swap is a chance to see inside someone else's journal, but with less risk for everyone involved.

It's pretty simple:

  1. Take a photograph or scan a picture of a really cool art journal spread in your personal journal (only requirement is that there is some sort of writing on the page and some sort of imagery or daily ephemera of some sort.)

  2. Print out four copies in a postcard size (my pc has the picture print option of 4 3"x5" photos per page.)

  3. Glue the four pictures to postcards.

  4. Send the four postcards to partners.

Feel free to decorate the postcards anyway you like, add a border etc.

You can send the postcards with or without an envelope, senders choice.

If this works out well, I plan on doing a swap like this every month.

Ratings requirement:

Rating of 4.9 and no recent no sends. I will check the swap participants the day before the deadline. Newbies are welcome with a REALLY filled out profile.

This is international because postcards are not that expensive to mail.

This sounds great fun, is it possible to use a postcard and stick to it our imaginary or daily emphora and decorate it, this will be easier as I know there are many who do not have printers, if this is possible then I would gladly join, :)

Yeah, I would join too if I could just journal on the PC! What a REALLY great idea for a swap......!!!!!

Am watching this swap..sounds good but I am interested to know the answers to the above questions.

I apologize for taking so long to respond to the questions! School has started, so I've been focused on returning messages, e-mails, etc. I should have checked the comments.

This is for a handmade postcard, so it would not be for just a regular postcard that has been journaled on. If you do not have a printer, you can still take a photograph of a journal page (regular film or digital) and then take it to a drug store to get the film developed (or take the memory card from the digital camera.) Glue the developed photograph to a piece of cardstock, and that is another way to make a postcard.

The idea was to swap art journal pages without the risk of spending ten hours on a book to send and then getting flaked on. Plus you get to keep your journal, yet you get a peak at other's work!

Feel free to message me on swap-bot. I get an e-mail alert whenever one is sent!

I'm going to edit the swap to extend the sign up and send by date in case anyone else wants to sign up.

Thank you sparklebluefaery for clarifying that. I'm very excited to be taking part in this swap. Sending a photo of my journal page is so much easier than making several originals and possibly losing them in the mail. I hope you do this swap again next month.
