VERY IMPORTANT: customs in France can be evil. Please use customs forms and be clear about contents but downplay any values. The higher the value the more likely they are to tag an item. I often specify materials without naming items. Wool rather than gloves or fabric rather than curtains...etc. It seems to get packages through customes faster that way.
I am Amy....and I love to make things. I am a married, stay-at-home mom of 3, DS-18, DS-17 and DD-13! I recently moved to France for my husband's job. We are living in Le Chesnay which is walking distance from Versailles. In addition to being big into crafting I am a belly dancer. I haven't swapped in quite a long time because i got flaked on a few too many times. I am here again to give it a try. Fingers crossed!
I like a lot of different types of music....top 40, rock, and anything I can belly dance to. I've been listening to the Sirius station called Octane quite a bit lately.
I love to read...my faves are Tess Gerritsen, Sue Grafton, and James Patterson. My DH got me a Kindle for Christmas so I have been branching out when I can find interesting free ebook. I also listen to a lot of audio books from our local library while I am crafting. My mind wanders too much otherwise.
I love foreign films...movies with subtitles, particularly French films. I watch too many movies though and lots of different kinds. I like action movies more than most of my friend because I have watched tons of them with my hubby. It's easier to just watch them than fight over boy vs. girl movies. Movies I could watch over and over are Love Actually, Legally Blond, 10 Things I Hate About You and A Knight's Tale.
I love Law and Order, CSI, Project Runway. I am a sucker for home improvement, decorating and organizational shows. Since the move to France I haven't really been watching tv because I don't understand enough French for it to be worth it.
I haven't met a craft I didn't like.....I like some more than others: beading, scrapbooking, art journaling, knitting and crochet, altered art and ATC's! I enjoy making belly dance costumes and upcycling clothes. My newest craft is cartonnage which is a classic French craft that includes making frames and boxes among other things.
Sparkly, wearable art, knitting and crochet, butterflies, silky fabrics, jingles( think coins not bells), belly dancer chic, altered items, ATC's, kids art, bright colors but not rainbows, anything purple.
I am absolutely not into cutesy, fluffy, precious moments type stuff! Definitely NO snakes and NO spiders. I only like animal print in moderation! I am NOT into witches, Halloween, or anime so please don't send me any items including these!
