On indefinite hiatus. Will possibly return in 2018. Merry Mail group was deleted 10.3.17. Feel free to message me with any questions.
My name is Vicki. I live in rural southwest Missouri with my husband. I have three grown children and seven grand children whom I adore.
My husband and I live on 3 acres with a spring-fed pond so I have wonderful opportunities to observe some wildlife. We have lovely, large trees and it is very beautiful no matter the season.
I work full time but hope to retire in a few years and travel a little and craft a lot.
I first heard of swapping in summer 2016. I started with Pocket Letter Pals. I participated in many swaps, hosted swaps, and was founder of two groups. I am no longer a member of the site since they decided to charge fees.
I began the Merry Mail group on SB and invite you to join. Our primary focus is pocket letters but we branch out into other paper based crafts too.
I have crafted most of my life. I can crochet, cross stitch, and sew. Right now my concentration is on paper crafts like ATCs, loaded envelopes, Pocket Letters, 3D paper crafting, cards and envelopes, mini albums, planner goodies, embellishments, and paper dolls.
I'm not picky. I enjoy just about everything pertaining to paper crafting.
I am interested in seeing the creativity and interests of others. I don't expect others to craft around my particular likes because I want to enjoy their interpretation of a theme or swap. However, here is a short list of some of my favorites for profile specific swaps.
I am not allergic to anything so I don't mind coffee, tea, candy, or fragrant items.
I used to be an avid reader growing up. My two favorite authors are Louisa May Alcott and Agatha Christie.
I have a collection of Nancy Drew books that I have owned since a child. I own a few classic children's books from childhood that I hope to pass down to my grandchildren. Charlotte's Web, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alice in Wonderland, and a few others.
I also own a collection of books about the Borden murders, a crime I have a special interest in. It's such a fascinating story! I own a first edition of the first book ever printed about this crime, dated 1893, as well as copies of the original inquest, pretrial, and trial transcripts. (And yes...Lizzie did it.)
My favorite genres with a few examples:
