Hi, I am mostly a mixed-media artist. I love creating Postcards, ATCs, inchies, and cards. I live in Washington state and just love the PNW. My favorite colors are yellow and green and my fave palette is natural or fall colors. I love Gelli printing, stamping, watercolors, pastels, and collage. I guess I'd call my preferred style a mix of vintage/shabby chic/eclectic all rolled into one. I really enjoy swapping projects with others to get a new perspective and fresh ideas. I am so inspired by the creativity of others and love trying new projects.
I love Vicky Papaioannou's YouTube vids, I watch both her handmade cards tutorials and her journalling vids. They are all free and she lists all the items she used below each video. I've watched some of them over and over.
I will do my best to rate swaps as they come in and would greatly appreciate if others will rate me as well. In addition, I am not a flaker and if you are ever in any doubt about any swap - please ask me about it.
Please put the name of the swap and your swap-bot username on the swap item or envelope, so I know who to rate and thank when I receive items. You do not need to include extras to get a heart from me. Please, just invest time and care in your creation or note and I will give you a heart. I enjoy well-made projects and appreciate the time spent in crafting them.
If you are going to be late sending out a swap - please let me know before the send date. While including a note later may explain a problem, it would be much more responsible to send a note ahead of time if you can.
I love handmade envelopes, but please keep in mind the post office runs the envelopes through machines that can be a bit rough on the envies. Please consider reinforcing your envies, both handmade and store-bought, with tape, if the paper seems like it might rip when run through the postal processing machines. I have been sad to receive some swaps in torn envelopes that the post office sticks in a plastic baggie, with a sorry note on it and the PO makes me sign for it - as if I know what may or may not be missing from the ravaged envelope. This is especially true for things sent to me from overseas - if you are sending me something from outside the US, please tape the seams and edges of the envie just to be safe! Thanks!
I currently enjoy art journaling and making mixed media art with my Gelli plate, acrylics, stamping, watercolors, soft pastels, and coloured pencils. I love trading ATCs of all types, so long as they are the correct size (2.5" x 3.5") and fit into a baseball card holder (I keep them in a binder in baseball card pages, so if they are too chunky or have bits hanging over the edge, they don't fit).
In the past, I've also done embroidery, cross-stitch, knitting, wreath-making, doll-making, stuffed animals, and pencil sketching. I do a little wire-work here and there, mostly little embellishments for ATCs or tags.
Chocolate: I like milk chocolate & white chocolate. I like nuts, pretzels, crisps, or peanut butter in chocolate (I love peanut M&Ms, chocolate covered pretzels, Reeses Pieces, and Reeses Peanut Cups). I don't like fruit, caramel, or anything too chewy in chocolate.
Candy: I love Peachies, Red Swedish Fish, orange slices, and red and white round peppermints. I don't like licorice, red hots (or any hot/cinnamon candy), jujubees, horehounds, any sour candy, spearmint, & gum.
Cookies: I love chocolate chip cookies with walnuts, white chocolate macademian nut cookies, homemade spritz cookies, and peanut butter chocolate kiss cookies. I don't like gingerbread/ginger snaps, lemon (or any fruit type) cookies, sandwich cookies, or any really hard cookies.
Hot Beverages: I love hot black tea and occasionally hot chocolate. I'm pretty boring when it comes to tea and hot cocoa - I don't like any fruity/herbal/mint/spice teas or cocoa. I like any kind of Breakfast black tea (English Breakfast, American Breakfast, Scottish Breakfast, etc.), Earl Grey, and organic black teas. I'm sorry, but I don't like red, white, or any other hot teas. I don't drink coffee, thanks.
I have been collecting stickers for over 30 years! I started collecting them in the fifth grade and still have my first album plus many more. I love stickers! Because I have so many stickers and love them, let me tell you a little bit what I like. I love Japanese & Korean kawaii stickers. I love epoxy stickers, bubble stickers, puffy stickers, and other 3d novelty stickers. Even if they are not kawaii, I mostly like the really cute stickers, but not children's themed stickers (Disney, etc). I don't collect teacher's reward stickers or really tiny stickers like those used on fingernails. I know some people don't care, but I am saddened to see bent/torn stickers - sometimes people try to put a sheet of stickers in an envie and they don't fit, so some people just bend the sheet in half, often ruining the stickers in the middle on the fold. I prefer to receive either full sheets of stickers or sticker flakes. I don't have children and don't enjoy sports, so please send those on to someone else or I will pass them on if you send them to me.
I really love any well made postcard and I'm fine with Zazzle as long as it's a great pic and decent cardstock. My faves are usually animals, whether real or illustrated. I also love anime, illustrations, holidays (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, etc), and local food/festivals. I like maps, animals, landscapes/scenery, city views, local humor/attractions. on the front. I prefer pcs sent naked (written on and stamped), but I am also interested in swaps of unused postcards if you are from another country (outside the US) or have access to postcards that I can't find locally (like cactus). I do not like free ad cards, ripped or torn cards, or ones that don't have a picture on them.
I am fascinated by gyotaku (Japanese fish printing). I love Elizabeth St. Hilaire Nelson's artistic collage. I also love impressionistic art and watercolors. I love prehistoric cave paintings. I also like Japanese brush painting. I especially love watercolor paintings of koi and pond life or little birds. I also love watercolor farm scenes and trees.
Stickers, Art Journal pages, little hand-drawn sketches or watercolors, handmade ATCs or ACEOs, foreign book or magazine pages with non-English writing, postcards, clear buttons, but please don't feel that you need to send extras! I always appreciate you taking more time to make a project than worry about extras.
Anything that smells like cigarettes or smoke (allergies). I don't need any child-oriented birthday or holiday cards (I'm single and don't have kids, but I don't mind if an ATC features a vintage child's pic as a part of, just no childish images like Spongebob, Disney, etc). I don't like heavily religious overtones - I prefer to leave religion out of art. I don't drink coffee, but I do like coffee themed cards or ATCs.
