I am 38 and a mom of three kiddos. I enjoy reading, doing misc. crafty stuff (whatever my imagination hits on at the moment), cooking (if someone else does the dishes), sewing and a million and one other things. I enjoying gardening, tending my chickens, and imagining I am an old pioneer wife, but then I absolutely love getting dressed up and pretending I am from an old era where women actually got "dolled up" to go out.
I enjoy thrift store shopping, swapping and getting presents! I am the ultimate bargain hunter and am constantly out on the hunt! I tend to be somewhat chabby chic/classy in my house decor - think Martha Stewart/Pottery Barn - not that I ever shop there as it is completely out of my budget =).
I love spending time with my husband and kids. We play lots of game (mostly European and anything new and different - Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, Bang!, Nuns on the Run, Lost Cities, Heave Ho! and too many more to list). If you have any favorite games or try something new that you LOVE, e-mail me and let me know.
My husband and I live in an old big house (built 1908) with three apartments off of it that we run a Christian College Ministry out of. It is constantly in need of fixing or redoing, so that take up a lot of my spare time.
I love to get all "dolled up" and go out (think elegant/classy), I am somewhat old fashioned though in my tastes & ideas. Steampunk is also really starting to attract me. I love to laugh and have fun with people of like minds. I have very varied tastes and enjoy many things.
I an allergic to gluten and cane sugar - so if you send me any snacks, please avoid those thing. Natural sweeteners like stevia, honey, maple syrup are great though. I espeically love dried fruits with no sugar added - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!
I enjoy natural soaps, lotions, and bath products with fruit smells. I also am becoming very earthy and trying to use products that are more environmentally friendly. So anything relating to this, I would love as well (natural cleaners, detergents, organic cotton, things made out of bamboo, essential oils, etc.
I love the ocean and rainy days - Good thing I live in Washington! ;) Autumn is my favorite season.
Well, sorry for the LONG profile, as I have participated in more and more swaps I have wished that some people had more information on their profiles and then I kept ending up adding more and more.
My favorite color is currently green - Kelly green to be specific - but any green really. My second favorites would be: blues, burgundy, red, black and white. I prefer silver or pewter over gold every time. I love old fashioned things, the victorian era, and anything pretty and romantic (more simple and classy verses really lacy). I also like classy fifties housewife stuff or maybe it is considered vintage (?) (think Jessie Steele Aprons, Anne Taintor, etc). I also must admit that I kind of like steam punk. =) I really like Fairies (not cartoon and preferably not naked), , trees, leaves, black & white photos, and much much more. I prefer fruit/food scents over flowery scents.
Really the main colors I DON'T like are orange or anything neon.
Movies: Pride & Prejudice, Batman Begins, Anne of Green Gables, all of the X-Men, Spiderman, Australia, and many others. I love spy movies and mysteries.
Music: Norah Jones, Classical, Jazz, Scottish (Marie Brenner, Enya, Natalie MacMasters), etc.
Television: Deep Space 9, Star Trek Next Generation, Chuck, Eureka, West Wing, Monk, White Collar, Death in Paradise and I am sure others that I can't think of at the moment.
Making homemade bath products, things with essential oils, watercolors, calligraphy, & steampunk crafting
