I took a long break from swapping. I lost my swapping mojo for awhile and I wasn't sure if I would ever get it back. Recently I've been missing it though, so I thought I'd ease back in slowly. I also have a lot of postcards and notecards etc. that I want to get rid of, so I may do a bunch of RAK's. I have a "1" rating. It is from December 2010. I went through a very difficult time. I actually had more, but I was able to make up all except this last one. The user is no longer on Swap-bot and her profile had been deleted.
I'm open-minded and easy going. I try to live each day as it comes and not dwell too much on the past. I have suffered from clinical depression off and on for most of my adult life. I have learned what triggers my episodes and I've learned to manage them, though it is never easy. Art and reading are the two things that have been the biggest relief for me. When I'm creating, or when I'm deep into a novel, nothing else exists.
I've been married for 12 years to a wonderful guy who's been a rock. We have no children. We do have a large, fluffy, gray tabby cat named Squatchie. Squatchie is a diabetic cat who has chronic pancreatitis making it difficult to regulate his diabetes. Not being able to regulate his diabetes makes it impossible to resolve his chronic pancreatitis. It's a delicate balancing act and we are grateful for every day we have with him.
I don't stress too much about being flaked on. It happens. This is a public site and while I don't like it, I do accept that it's the risk I'm taking. I won't call anyone out in the forums. I won't witch hunt, name names or denigrate anyone. I know all too well, that life happens and sometimes, no matter how well intentioned you are, things just don't get done when they should be. I will always communicate before I rate down because I would hope that someone would give me the same respect. I have a "1," so I'm not going to say I ALWAYS send my swaps. I will say I haven't flaked since 2010 and I have no intention of doing so again. So if you don't receive something from me, please let me know. I'm more than happy to do a resend.
My iPod contains a varied playlist. Everything from today's country music to classical to heavy metal. The only music genres I really don't care for are hip hop, rap and opera. I can't really pick one single favorite song or artist, but lately I've been liking the Zac Brown Band. I also love Kenny Chesney and Big & Rich. And John Denver and Barry Manilow. And Whitesnake, Poison, Foreigner, Bon Jovi... I could keep going on and on!
I've been a huge reader ever since I can remember. Reading got me through a difficult childhood. I read just about anything I can get my hands on. I have over 3000 books in my library. Books have been my best friends and I have a really hard time parting with them. Some of my favorite books are the Harry Potter series, anything by Nora Roberts or Jayne Ann Krentz, the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich, The Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris (the books are way better than the "True Blood" television series).
I didn't used to watch much television, but I switched from working second shift to working a normal workday, so I find myself watching more these days. I love "Hawaii Five-O", "Bones", "Glee", "Ghost Mine", and shows like "Mythbusters", "Ancient Aliens", etc. I was a huge "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" fan.
I don't see many movies. I just don't have the attention span to sit through a full two hour movie. Once in awhile, I'll watch one, but it's rare. Favorite movies are "The Last of the Mohicans" (I seriously fell in love with Daniel Day Lewis), "St. Elmo's Fire", and "Grease."
*Tropical, beachy themes. It's my goal to retire and live in Hawaii.
*Bling. I'm a sucker for shiny, glittery things.
*The color green. All shades. It's my fave. Greens into blues... teals, aqua's, etc.
*Animals. Love them all.
*Cats. Even the big ones. Lions and Tigers oh my! I really, really want to play with a lion or tiger cub.
*Sea creatures.
*Ephemera - old papers, old magazines, anything quirky or kitschy. Anything someone else thinks might be interesting.
*Floral patterns and designs. I love flowers. Especially daisies and peonies.
*Garfield the cat. I think he's hilarious.
*Anything humorous. Jokes. Positive quotes.
I don't have many. I feel that if someone is going to take the time to send me something, then I'll probably like it and if I don't, I'll find a way to use it or pass it on. But, there are a few things that I would prefer not to receive:
*Coffees, teas, drink mixes. I don't drink coffee or tea. I never have and most of my friends don't either, so I wouldn't know what to do with it.
*Food. I won't join any swap that requires me to send or receive any type of snack or food. I just don't trust it. I'm sorry, you might be the most trustworthy person, but I wouldn't be able to force myself to eat it or pass it on.
*Anything overly religious. I don't mind Christian themed Christmas cards, or the occasional quote. I am Christian, but please don't preach to me. I am interested in all kinds of beliefs including Wicca. I have my own beliefs and they may or may not mesh with yours, but I've learned that talking about religion and politics is never a good thing.
*Makeup or lip balm or anything of the sort. I do wear it, but again, it's a trust issue. I won't join any swap that requires that I send or receive it.

As a head's up, you can delete 1 ratings left by people who have deleted their profiles. I'm not exactly sure how, but it's doable.
Hi SunnyLee! :) I am just checking up to see if you got the post card I sent for the 2013 PC Swap #6. I sent on the 6th. If it is not yet there I will re-send. Thank you!
Thank you so much for your totally wonderful comment on my swap! I had a similar 2010 to yours I think...that was my intention for this swap and now people are mad at me! Oh well, it makes for interesting reading anyway! I'm so glad you're in my swap. :)
Received your postcard today, looking forward to the last two parts!
