I see we do have a lot of common likes! You asked if I had any canning tips. 1) Only grow and can/preserve what you and your family will eat. Canning is hot hard work for food that won't save your family money that they won't eat. 2) Don't pay retail for jars! Buy them cheap at garage sales or snag them cheap/free off Craigslist. AND invest in a tool kit (funnel and tongs). Here in the states they are only about $6 and well worth keeping you from getting burned. :)

I have a friend here that is Canadian. She goes to Hamilton every Winter for 3 months or so. This year she got no snow so far and is saddened by that. I visited Canada a few times and I enjoyed it and the people there a lot. The place you live sounds like a place I would like living if I wasn't here. I am also blessed with wonderful children. My Auntie died due to Lupus over 20 years ago after refusing medication when she became pregnant. My cousin is alive and doing well. We have a lot in common... chocolate, blessed with children, postcards, vanilla, country music, tv Police shows, the beach and the shells we might find there and my favorite craft is counted cross stitch. I liked reading your profile page. have a good day, Debra (TexyDeb)
