I like to watch horse shows. The only horses I rode as a kid were the neighbor's Belgian work horses, Ted & Nancy. They were 15 and 16 hands high and we would drop onto them from the hay loft. My neighbor broke his ankle once, sliding down from Ted's back. They were very gentle,
Response: My show horse in high school was 17 hands so your neighbour's work horses were on the small side.
Glad you have such fun childhood memory of horses.
