Comment: what a fun swap. We may have to meet at my cottage to pratice our stitch one day. I did mine on Linen and used pearl cotton thread. Had to tear it out several times because I couldn't see what I was doing, and I once was very good at needle work. That's life.

I'm so happy your custard had flavor - mine was in the frig overnight & made with whole milk so I just think I didn't add enough lemon for flavoring. Or I secretly wanted warm custard and my taste buds were just sabotaging me, lol!! xxToni
Response: Thank you for the heart. It was a lucky disaster save with the custard, perhaps the lemon did bring out the flavour of the sugar. I used pasturized milk straight from the dairy, we love our cream in the milk. yum. Now I wonder what will be our next recipe?

Luckily i live near the coast so once she found her way up the western branch of the elizabeth river she was practically here!! (Thank you, shes sweet!)

The ones you sent photos of are gorgeous, as is the one you sent. I have never tried tea-dying fabrics, and I love how this turned out for you. It is such a special and personal item with the 3 symbols and message. And thanks for the dotee, too! I've never seen one up close, she is very sweet. A BBC listener/ watcher since childhood, that's all -- then I got hooked on Jasper Fforde, Robert Rankin, Terry Pratchett and black tea in a mug :) It's the sense of humor, I think ... I do have to say that your letter was a true gift for me, as I lost my father just 7 months ago, and some days I miss him so much it's a tangible thing. I made the one like see through paper if is the one i am thinking of, is it the one on stiff vaguely lined white almost - waxed finished? Its a technique I learned as a new 1970's youngster in grade 4 primary school here in Australia. Glad you liked it...it was a pleasure.
