Comment: What an amazingly wonderful postcard. I love that it has the stamp on the front (such a nice design by the AUS postal service). Also, your handwriting is beautiful! We have some peach-faced lovebirds in the metropolitan area, about 2500 birds escaped from a breeding facility 30 years ago, now there's a thriving population of about 45,000! They are the only vibrantly colorful birds in our southwestern deserts...apparently they are originally from Africa, which has biomes similar to ours in Arizona! Who knew! Happy swwapping! Best, Rick

I wonder if they will ever figure out why they glow! Comment: Thank you for the postcard. I recognised Grand Haven Pier from a video I’ve seen on YouTube. There’s a video that appears to show a cryptid creature crossing the pier during a storm. I thought it looked like a large sheet of plastic. But I’ve just watched it again & I noticed that right at the end of the video the creature appears to dive like a dolphin. Interesting video! What do you think it is? Thanks again.
Response: Hey Mark, it was easy to find the video you mentioned. To me it seems like a living creature, like a giant eel or maybe seal, but yes, definitely the last bit of the video, whatever it is, it dives down into the water. The big storm could certainly have churned up something big from the deep!

I like most any animal that is FURRY. I imagined they were much bigger or is this just a little one ?? He's got some claws on the him. Thanks again truly enjoyed your letter.

Comment: What an adorable little guy -- and the matching stamp, too! He looks a lot like one we have here in AZ which is called a kangaroo rat. He builds mounds of sticks, etc. as a nest, and is known for finding shiny things and hiding them away in his nest. I suspect they may be distant cousins. Thanks, and happy swapping!

Comment: Thanks for the bear postcard! I love it! I'm embarrassed to admit that I just had to convert C to F to figure out that your winters are fairly mild! Here in San Antonio, our winters are what I consider mild as well--in the 60s. Much better than the oppressive summers which reach the 90s!!

Response: I'm so sorry you didn't like the postcard. It does state on it that the picture was done by a 10 year old child, I believe they won a competition and their artwork was turned into a postcard to promote the Appeal. I thought you would like it because it was to do with art and animals. Sorry.

I am feeling distinctly jealous, here in the desert in my landlocked state of Arizona. Thank you for providing me with a dream! It sound like you live in a fascinating and fabulous place, but I am not so enthused about the 287 days of sunshine. (The sun and I are not friends, *haha*) That's really neat that you can see the ocean from your work-desk. i don't know that I'd be able to work with a view like that. :-) Thanks for sharing!
