Response: awww...glad you liked her! i love that little tiny seahorse...seemed just perfect to be her snug pal at bed time! i wasn't sure i could make a bendy doll small enough to fit in a matchbox, but she did with just enough room for some bedding and a buddy. :)

Comment: Thank you for the wonderful little bird notebook! It is really nice. I love the entry on the bluebirds, as I would love to see one. The story about the baby robin was very cute, and it reminds me of my recent find: a dark eyed junco nest! They started to hatch yesterday. Your pictures of hummingbirds are also cute; I have the exact same feeder too. Thank you for the beautiful bird book!
Response: glad you liked it! we have fun taking pictures of the birds in the yard - my (almost) 5 year old is always asking what is at the feeder and has started identifying some birds (robins and cardinals are the easy ones). Then she asks if I'm going to get my camera! haha!!

Comment: LOL Belchertown was named after the first governor of Massachusetts Crown Colony. Previously the town was called Cold Spring. I think they made a poor decision. ;) The foliage this year was spectacular, the best it's been in a while. Peaked quick though! Thanks for the cute doggie postcard, and I hope you get some interesting notes on your "found" cards!
Response: When you said Cold Spring I thought I had been there before, but we went camping at Cold River...then I looked up Belchertown and haha, not near each other!!

Lots of the stuff is going to immediate use for some of my swaps--the ATC blanks, the pens, and post-its. The journal I'm going to use to keep quotes from my reading. One of the corks fell into the hands of my foster cat and I'll probably never get it back. Thanks so much!

The envelope was cool, but I think a little flimsy and got damaged in the post - it had to be resealed in plastic by the post office!
Response: ugh. most times the handmade envelopes do ok through the postal machines if the edges are sealed well! bummer. well, at least there were a ton of extra puzzles inside so if a couple were damaged or lost you had plenty of extra for your amusement :) next time i'm covering the entire envie in packing tape - less artistic but more durable!!

Nothing worse than picking up a cool dumpster treasure and finding old Caesar salad dressing on it! I had to drive home with my arm outside of the car!

Our trick was to put a tight tshirt on him (the trick is to be tight on the chest) and he would calm down. It hits tension points on their chest. We called it his "muscle shirt". We now have a few clients who do this (I am a petsitter.) Might be worth a try - every dog is different. Take care!

A friend of mine used to work at a greyhound rescue where they took in race dogs that were going to be euthanized and she said there was a couple who would come in every once in a while and only adopt the old dogs so they could give them a good, happy home for a couple of years...most of those dogs have never had a real home!
Response: We have some friends that have now adopted 2 retired greyhounds, and aside from needing to be extra careful about them getting out (they will run until collapsing of exhaustion) they are the sweetest dogs ever...and yes, soo happy to have a home :)

Comment: I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoyed your card today. I am originally from Michigan and have been to Traverse City on many occasions. The card was really well done. I love your handwriting. Also, Cooper is adorable. I love Bernese Mountain dogs!
Response: Cooper was such a sweet dog! he greeted us as soon as we walked through the door and rolled over for some belly rubs! Between the super friendly dog, and the very knowledgable wine pourer, (and delicious wine) it was our favorite winery on the peninsula!

Response: haha...that trip to the bahamas was sooo not a vacation (although it seems like it should have been). it was like slave labor in the sun and heat! i still had a good time and came home with a fantastic tan (horrible tan lines, too!)

Comment: How fun! I was a park ranger at Coulee Dam National Recreation Area many many years ago. Did you know the area around the dam, geologically, is called the Channeled Scablands??? LOL
Response: haha...i MAY have read that somewhere! my dad took a cross country trip to the World's Fair in 1962 to see the Space Needle opening, and they stopped at the Grand Coulee Dam on the way back...40+ years later, he remembered how "cool" it was, so on our last XC adventure, i insisted we take the little side trip to go there...soo much concrete, it's really incredible. i wanted to take the tour, but i don't think it's open in the winter, nor the laser light show! next time :o)

Comment: Hi Kim, It is a small world for sure! Did your grandparents live in Weymouth? I have lived in this town for 36 years and wouldn't think of moving away. Have you been to Wessagussett Beach next to the yacht club? I live 10 houses from the water front. Last week a harp seal was sunning on the beach from 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. TThe staff of the New England Aquarium came by to check the seal just to make sure he was healthy and then had to cage him and move him to Webb Park beach. Reporters from Channel 7 and 5 as well as the Patriot Ledger Newspaper and the Weymouth News were there taking pictures and interviewing us spectators. I have some great pictures. I am sure that i have been t the Wessaguessett Beach, but for the life i me, i can't remember, since i was just a little kid...we didn't go to the beach in the summer much b/c it was always so crowded! i remember going for a looong walk when a ship (a tanker or container ship maybe) came up on shore, that was about 22-25 years ago!! maybe you remember that....
