I can imagine that travel in the US (and probably also travelling outside of the USA as someone from the US) is interesting right now with your new president. I've been to the USA twice now (once to Utah and California, once to North Carolina, Disney World, Washington DC, New York and the Niagara Falls) and though there's still so much to see it's truly on the back end of my travel list - it's sad in a way, but Latin America seems much safer to me currently. Anyway, thanks again, also for the notecard! Have a wonderful day and have fun at your Valentine's Day meal today!

Response: Totally understandable! Actually I was just concerned one of the things in the envelope busted and ruined the happy mail. I realized after I sent - hmm, wonder if I should have sent that soap sample or if it's going to burst open in the sorting machine!

I even opened the first one in Portland; it was a fun side job. Plus, I got a discount! (Which only made prices somewhat tolerable since the store is notoriously overpriced.) Even though I wish there was a store in San Antonio, it's probably best for my wallet that there isn't one! 😂

Comment: I don't have any particular recommendations on gel pens. I have not met a gel pen I didn't like yet. I actually bought a set of 100 off of eBay for about $20 a few months ago and then just a couple of weeks ago saw a similar set in Michael's for $55. As long as you have the patience to let them dry I think anything will work.

Response: Biscoff butter and Speculoos (Trader Joe's) are very, very dangerous things :) Have you tried the Ben & Jerry's Cookie Core with Biscoff in the center? It's hard to find but is some of the best ice cream I've ever had.

Yes, I am still stunned by the loss of Ms. Fisher and Ms. Reynolds and look forward to watching the Bright Lights documentary and the forthcoming Wishful Drinking airing (from Ms. Fisher's Broadway run) as well as reading Ms. Fisher's memoirs and novels. Speaking of BatB, I just saw the most recent trailer for the live-action film, and I just wish that Disney would stop remaking its classics and stick to new ideas. The live-action Cinderella was beautiful, and I appreciate that it wasn't a musical; I would be more open to a live-action BatB if it weren't trying to replicate iconic performances.
Response: I just saw a post on Ian McKellan's Facebook fan page about BatB. I'm not really sure what to think about it. Interesting cast, but not really liking the remakes. Tried to get a hold of a few of Carrie Fisher's memoirs and they sold so quickly they're out of print. D'oh!

Comment: Thank you for the colorful view of the Flatiron Building/District -- I remember loving my leisurely stroll down Fifth Avenue and seeing the iconic building for the first time in person a few years ago :) -- the beautiful foiled washi tapes, and for sharing your cozy fireplace with me! It was also in the 20s-30s this weekend, and while I like cold weather when I am properly attired, the windchill was painful :p Happy Monday!
Response: NYC got a bit of snow over the weekend according to my husband. He had the lucky task of driving a group of friends to JFK for a flight. It's beautiful in the winter, of course, but not really the sort of weather that makes walking all around the city enjoyable!

Comment: Thank you for the interesting card. I have never been to Bethlehem, PA but I did tour a steel plant in Birmingham AL in 1961 and I remember the huge blast furnaces that were in operation there.
Response: They look so interesting and I would like to explore them, however, that's highly illegal. So, off from a distance it is. The old ruins of steel and coal are fascinating but likely didn't smell so great in operation!
