I watch a live cam from January until the nestlings fly in June and often inflict it on my students. Thank you too for the old envelope. Of course, it will be used!!

It's in my top favorite swaps I've received!! 💜💛💙💚❤️ This envelope was such a joy to see in my mailbox!! I adore the map punches and the adorable ink stamps used to decorate and even a crab sticker!!! Love love love....and that's just the outside!! Now the inside was just an adventure to be had!!! Not only did you personalize the selection of stamps, the two postcards that you included were just so neat!!! I loved reading about the Austrian central post offices small toy sorting machine!!! Je ne pense pas que pour voir le ballet on doit parler russe, on peut lire l'information sur le sujet de performance en anglais dans les bouclettes qû peut acheter au théâtre :) Malheuresement, il y a beacoup de gens qui ne parlent pas l'anglais, mais d'habitude en été il y a des volontaires qui parlent anglais, indiquent le chemin et aident les étrangers. J'espère que tu a passé ton examen de la langue francais et que tu as réussi. Moi, je aussi apprends le francais dans l'académie ou j'étudie, je l'apprends pour ma plaisir, car ce n'est pas la discipline obligatoire. I love reusing and including items meant for other purposes in my projects too! You mentioned owl pellets in your note and our family loves dissecting them too. My son is in Boy Scouts and it was the first time I had ever seen a pellet right around 2010. Since then we have dissected many. Love it! Thanks again for my Bird On a Heart!

If only my bicycle really COULD fly!

Have you seen the BBC series "Life in the Undergrowth"? It's by David Attenborough and was released in 2005. Our library has it on Blu-Ray. It is just fascinating. My favourite bit is when Sir David has a velvet worm on his arm (not actually a worm). He gazes at it all misty-eyed and calls it "an enchanting little creature". And he's right!

Comment: I could have been happy with just the envelope! Such lovely stamps - very Asian, and the rooster is fantastic! Then there are all the gold embellishment stickers - they are just lovely. I love the entire package. The card you made is lovely - feels like a special or handmade paper, too. And the goodies are great! Last, but not at all the least - and the reason I'm listing it last is because I didn't notice it until I'd opened up everything else - I love the Top Value stamp next to the postage stamps! How fun is that - I was cracking up when I saw it! I love those and S&H Green stamps - they remind me of pasting them in Mom's book when she got home from the store! Thanks for a great Chinese New Year prep!

I absolutely love your envelope and the creative way to open it without destroying it. Your kind note has brightened my day. What a cute card you used and your handwriting is so pretty! I do like living in my new house, even better than when I lived in the country (I live in the suburbs now). If you can believe it it's actually quieter here than when I lived on some acreage! Yes! Everytime I've moved I noticed I can't seem to find everything I had before. Why is that?! It seems like no matter how good you label the boxes things still seem to disappear. Haha I enjoyed hearing about the Christmas markets and I have longed to go to one for years. I dislike crowds, but I think putting up with this would be worth the experience. There's actually a Christmas market in Holland (28 minutes from me) this weekend that I hope to attend. Holland is one of my favorite cities as it's very quaint and you can find many imported merchandise. It's a nice way to get to know eachother better. Yesterday evening I went to one of our Christmas markets. It was perfect weather: dry and cold, dark early, so all the lights transformed my city into something magical. Here in Germany, Sunday evening is the best time to go if you don't like crowds: enough people for it to be busy and have a good atmosphere, but short waits for the mulled wine (Glühwein) and enough room to stand away from the smokers (if smoke makes you sneeze, as it does me). I love the German Christmas markets! It's just as Christmas should be, in my opinion! Have fun in Holland!

Von dem Thema habe ich zwar schonmal einen Text gelesen, aber das war vor Jahren und ich erinnere mich kaum noch daran, so kann ich meine Erinnerung wieder auffrischen. Ich liebe insbesondere Neurologie-Sprache Überschneidungen, das ist super interessant :) und danke für die Karte vom Gehirn, hat mir auch sehr gefallen :) Dankeschön also für einen insgesamt wunderbaren Brief! You make me feel bad because my partner got a 4 year old pc, not a very special one over 100 years old with very cool French stamps (I better not tell him what I got, eh?). Lucky for me I have been to the Eiffel Tower--still have a Tower-shaped decanter of cognac that I bought at the gift shop there way back in 1978. thanks again for 'letting go' of this card--it will remain in my permanent collection for many, many years!

Comment: Sonia, this is an awesome postcard. I love all the texture and different elements you sewed onto the paper. What is the background? Chocolate candy wrapper?
Response: Glad you liked it. The background is a sticker the Deutsche Post puts on your post to return it to you if it's insufficiently franked. I have one or two of them lying around! The fan shaped thing is a list of the colours in which you are allowed to paint your house on the island of Helgoland. And of course, I used the stickers I tore off my mustard jars!

Love the "bloody" fingerprints. It's all so very creative! To answer your question - there are days that I'm so far outside my comfort zone that I wonder what I've gotten myself into! Response: Good for you! The comfort zone is only there for returning to after excursions in the unknown! The photo album is a real treasure. I'm sure the people whose photos were available at a car boot sale would rather be turned into ATCs than be forgotten entirely.

Response: I'd have explained on the card, but the swap brief explicitly forbade it, which made it more fun, in my opinion. The plaster bust of Nofretete that I drew is in the Neues Museum of Berlin, which is on the front of the card. No German (or nearly-German, like me) can think of the Neues Museum without thinking of Nofretete. If you are ever in Berlin, you must see her. She is the most beautiful thing you can imagine.

One was a deaf hunting dog, a wire-haired terrier mix of 14 years. I love old dogs, I don't mind if they smell. She let me scratch her flank and leaned right in against me to get more. Perhaps the best was a strapping German shepherd bitch with the incongruous name of "Mäuschen" (little mouse). She ran at the river full tilt and did the most spectacular crashing bellyflop I have ever seen! It's a wonder there was any water left.

Comment: This really didn't meet the requirements of the swap, but I did receive it. Please be more careful with swap descriptions.
Response: I did interpret the rules somewhat loosely, by deciding not to send the card "naked" and by putting the two ATCs next to each other but on opposite sides of the card. It was a gamble that could have brought me a three. So thanks for rating a five!
