Comment: This swap knocked my socks off! Your rolos are so beautiful, I love to see the way you interpret each letter. All of the extras are just WOW. I am going to enjoy using all of the embellishments, papers and goodies. The beautiful deep red gold trim will look wonderful on a wall hanging quilt. The clown head has a place to go with a few other tiny clowns I have. Everything is so thoughtful and the types of things I love.

Response: o man - i WISH i had made that envelope! Can you believe I got it in a bag of envelopes at Big Lots for $1... there were 20 envelopes (or 25), four of them were that cool black mulberry---the others were neat, but that was the niftiest one of them all. O- I bet the cemeteries in Savanna were awesome! Nice to swap with you!!

I didn't know they had earthquakes in that part of the country, either. How scary! I was in one in San Francisco once, and I don't want to ever feel that way again. Too weird!

It's like the homemade notecards I sometime receive when the person just couldn't resist adding just a bit more and that bit more ruins the whole thing. Heart for the extra notecard, which is lovely!

Heehee, I often check the thrift shops for notecards too :) It made me laugh about the "last kid picked for the kickball team" and how you try to get them before they get too depressed! I sometimes feel sorry for the cards too. Especially the old ones that look like they were made in the 70's and look like they've been sitting on the shelves for just as long unpicked. I love how the postcard shows the stages of changes the moth goes through to become a moth or butterfly. I like as well how you cut out from a book info on the moth and included it as part of the postcard. The background paper reminds me of my teaching life and even the theme you chose reminds me of teaching. You put something over the front of the postcard. I'm interested to know what you did. Response: why thanks for your sweet comment and rating! :) The stuff I put on the front is tulip fabric paint - it's lunar eclipse I think...in the bottle it looks milky with confetti colors - there's a bunch of different colored ones like it, but the places I got it stopped carrying it! They're one of those subjects that automatically falls under the "geek chic" category, in that they're inherently COOL while also being inherently totally dorky.

I wil;l never forget the first extended visit, I was 15 and Uncle said - say out of the canal- I couldn't figure out why. I'm a desert kid and water is a novelty so the the next morning walking out the front door the was gator on the lawn I said. -say out of the canal gotcha. :-)

The news reported the dog pound was over run with dogs last weekend because so many of the poor dogs were scared out of the minds and ran away from home because of the all the fireworks. The city was urging people to get down to the pound to reclaim their dogs or they would have to put them up for adoption. we keep our dog in the house during the 4th Holiday because she's a chicken dog too. She even cries over thunder and lightning!

Comment: Our 80lb. cross german shepherd/hound died of old age recently and we are bereft. However, at the moment we have three 18 year olds living here! Only one actually belongs to us! Response: I found this great old book at a thrift store-The Queen's Physician by Edgar Maass (pub 1948). I used page 240. I found some great quotes to use on other swaps from this book too. Plus it had the greatest beaten paper cover-very dramatic and trashy!

I want to be able to list who did them. These are very special. Thank you again. Beautiful work. Oh how do you smash them. I tried with a hammer (heineken) and they were impossible to smash so I just left them along with the pesky plastic after spending 20 minutes to remove one. There has got to be a better way. Thank you. How long have you been making them. This is my first bottlecap swap.

Response: I am so glad you liked them Linda! This was my first try at making them, but I read a great way to flatten---take a large metal washer and a hammer and hammer the cap with the washer on it. It worked for me. I don't know on display options--on a ribbon? a magnet? Hugs back to you! :)
