Comment: Thanks for sharing your bird pictures with me. One of the things I've enjoyed about this swap has been the chance to see birds unfamiliar to me -- I had never seen a red-winged blackbird. I was interested that it was using the suet feeder -- we have blackbirds but they only ground feed, they never attempt any of the hanging feeders. And I enjoyed seeing the pileated woodpecker -- we have a green woodpecker that visits our feeders. Britain only has 3 species of woodpecker. Thanks for being part of the swap -- I do think birds are challenging to photograph!!

We don't have a wide range of wildlife in the UK, or rather we don't have a lot of wildlife that is easy to photograph and much as I would like to be a wildlife photographer I have no patience so it's probably not something I'd be suited to. Zoos and conservation projects are something I enjoy. We have a few conservation projects that help to fund their work with photography days which I love to go on. I love your zoo pics. 😺

Comment: HI Ann, I love your pictures! They are a perfect example of the strengths of black and white. I love the way that changing them to monochrome has allowed the viewer to focus on texture and shape without the distraction of colour. I particularly like the jellyfish and the milkweed -- both of which are interesting enough to be worth enlarging and printing and hanging on the wall! But I like the others too. Thanks for sharing.

Comment: Thank you! I love snow, so I loved your snowy pictures. I remember we had this much snow sometimes when I was a child, but not anymore :( It's so cute that pheasants came to visit you. You rarely see them here and they're mostly in the forest, they don't usually come to bird feeders because they find enough in the forest.

Comment: I really enjoyed looking at your pictures and the different views of Cooper. I think of the two close-ups I prefer the one without the window trim, but it's obviously a matter of personal taste! There's so much lovely texture and shading in Cooper's coat that I wonder if it's worth experimenting with some even more close-up pictures, ones that move into the abstract. I tried that with a goose and was really pleased with the patterns the close-up of the feathers created. Thanks for joining the swap!

Response: What a wonderful comment! Thank you! Yes, the fire happened a few years ago and took out our hobby shed, playhouse, 15 trees, car, and more. It was pretty bad. Seeing the artwork that my daughters had done burned in the fire was incredibly sad. Lots of memories with that, things from my parents, antiques, etc. - all gone. Anyway...this was such a great swap. I hope you will another version of it in the future!

I'm hoping I can get a rug done at work by Christmas, we have a whole classroom of looms I'm itching to take advantage of those! I'm younger than you, grew up in early 90s but I too remember playing house in the forest, pretending to have stables and horses etc. Seeing my 6 year old niece with an iPad for play time kinda makes me sad but I guess the world is moving on :) thanks for making me smile though!

The memories that you have from the past 17 years would be so touching to have and remember. I wish we had started earlier with doing tea parties, but it certainly isn't too late to begin. Response: I use Elmers glue and then press the postcard under several heavy books for a day before writing on the back and mailing them.

Response: You're welcome. I wish we had hummingbirds year-round here. However, their brief appearance in late-summer and early-fall make spotting them at the feeder even more special. They're such beautiful and fascinating birds.

Response: Thankfully, there was no tornado. However there was really heavy rain (I couldn't even see the next door neighbor's home), very strong winds, and lots of lightening. The mudroom roof started leaking and about half the floor was covered with water, so there was damage to the home. Have to do some calling today to figure out how to repair the roof.

Response: They did. I glued the paper to the cardboard to make the book, and stapled the pages in for them. They picked out the paper for the book, the envelopes, and then decorated the books themselves. They were so happy with what they created, and want to make more books.

Response: The base paper is watercolor paper that I painted myself using a wet-on-wet watercolor technique. The paper can be purchased at Michaels. The vintage images are printed out from a Dover publication. Another person on Swap-bot sent them to me through the Wishlist group since I was looking for vintage images. She sent such a wide variety of vintage pictures that were fun to work with. Happy that you liked everything.

Response: Thanks! The Swedish heart baskets are commonly seen around here and are made from red and white paper (the town I live was founded by Swedish immigrants). Wanted to try making a felt version of the baskets and enclosing them. It was a fun challenge!

Response: That was the smallest weaving I've ever done. It's challenging working on such a small scale with ATCs. Glad you can use the stickers...from your profile it looked like they would come in handy.

Comment: Absolutely wonderful ATCs! I like how you used different styles on them. it's very cool how you incorporated your sheep's wool in the spring ATC. Thanks for the postcards, too.
Response: I'm so happy you like them. They were fun to make - especially the spring one (the needlefelted ATC that you mentioned) and the summer one (the one with the packing tape transfer of the moose and moss for the grass).
