Response: I'm glad you like it! I work at a thrift store and often get books that are damaged in small way and won't sell. . . I like to use them in my art and swaps!!! that book had many pages scribbled on, but I was able to rescue a lot of it. It is Notebook for Fantastical Observations from the spiderwick chronicles.

Comment: Oh my goodness! What a great swap starting with the Iris spuria covered envelope, it beautiful. Then opening it very carefully so not to tear it I find more beautiful iris’ & the adorable pocket folder with some pretty awesome ephemera! The Graphic 45 Blossom is one of my favorites. I use a little of it every now & then because I’m afraid once it’s gone I may never be able to buy more, lol. Thanks for sending some 🥰. Let’s talk about this folder. The paper you used is great! I love the raven/crow on it. I love crows. And last but certainly not least! That absolutely gorgeous picture of the iris in your garden. Omg it beautiful. Mom has some planted but for some reason last year they didn’t bloom & they haven’t bloomed this year (yet) either. In fact I only had 3 or 4 iris bloom so far. I’m blaming it on the drought last year. IDK I do hope they bloom again. Thanks for a great swap! ❤️❤️❤️

And the book page pockets are gorgeous--my absolute favorite is the mushroom-themed one. I LOVE mushroom images. There are so, so many enclosures! Comment: Wow, this is an amazing package! First, I LOVE your postal themed rubber stamps, they're so awesome. All the goodies are so me! I love all the postcards; no biggie about the backs of the England PCs, as I'll use them in my honeymoon journal! The Alice print is so pretty, I'm going to hang it in my craft room. I loved reading your memories, they reminded me of the good times we spent on the farm. I think kids nowdays are missing out with all there electronics and luxurious we have. I think my best memory is going to the tiny town gas station and pulling an ice cold soda out of the coke a cola machine on a hot summer day - nothing like it! Stay safe and healthy.

I went to college for computer in 1998 & let me tell you, I didn't learn all I wanted either. They had very little teaching of it. The rest i had to learn on my own. Loved too reading about your postal story, about the banana PC with your mailman. How cool is that, him remembering a PC you sent out over 4 months ago a few yrs. back. I swear they have such an awesome memory!

My interpretation of the mother's look in her eyes would be that Death is not visible to her (she -somewhat- looks in her direction), but she senses her closeness. It's a beautiful depiction of a kiss of death...

Comment: Thanks for a Dr. Seuss postcard about a story that means a great deal for you---it's fun to know a bit about why one chooses a particular card for these swaps. I also love the "Little House" postage stamp. She was in S. Dakota, for the later books and not far from where I was on a farm for my first 14 years. She and Almanzo even camped overnight along a creek she names just east of Belden, Nebraska, (pop. 367 when we lived there She would have been about 1 mile for the farm we rented. So, after my 5th grade teacher read nearly the whole series to us after lunch hour playtime, I have been fascinated by all of her writing. But she's not as profound as Wally Lamb; however, I could practically recite the books when each of my kids were 3 of 4 years old as each one loved them so much that we read the whole set twice or more for each--they were 6 years apart, so each one ended up having me almost !
Response: That stamp was from a package I bought in a vending machine on my way home from the hospital after having my daughter in 1993. I see I was holding on to it for a very special reason and am SO HAPPY that you love it too!!!!

I love fairytales and yes many fairytales, the original versions, are dark and they where never ment to enjoy children by reading them. I have a book from the brothers grimm illustrated by Anton Pieck, And they are not the cute children's versions ;) but I love those stories.

I do feel kind of weird about having part of a glorious book in my hand, but I will be putting it up on the wall in my library near my Harry Potter section. The coin is awesome - I love aquariums, we will visit the aquariums in most of the places we travel, even little aquariums, I find them so peaceful. The extras were super fun. But it was your letter, it touched my heart. When you dedicate so much of yourself, your life and your family to such a project it can feel quite daunting and isolating. When I read your letter I looked your husband's book up - wow there are a lot of same name books, but I took a guess that Dennis is your husband. The reviews looked fantastic. Thank you for sharing this with me.
Response: Yes, Dennis is my husband. With google and pinterest, the book is pretty outdated, but the commitment to writing the book and perfecting the recipes, you are right, it is overwhelming a lot of the time! Thank you for your kind note, and glad you like the aquarium coin!

Comment: Wow what a lot of work into this envelope, it is beautiful. Thank you for putting all the effort it took to doing it and know that it’s appreciated when I seen it. I’m going to use the little envelope you sent for a stamp bag swap. The car is beautiful and I’m assuming you painted it, amazing. So many pretty things in the swap and I thank you very much. Just a note for you to take with the kind of paper for your envelopes. The paper split along the seams, you may want to reinforce the seams with tape on the inside before you put them together for safety sake - you could do it on the outside as well, but I don’t want to take away from the artwork so I’m saying on the inside 😀

Comment: Thank you for the weird and wonderful postcard of Io and for the circus stamp - so thoughtful! It's cold but typical for my area of California, sunny and 58 F today. My favorite Keith Jarret also is the Koln Concert. With a lot of practice I can play the main theme, and now that I think about it, it's one of my favorite pieces of music, ever.

That is one of the best envelopes I've ever received :) Didn't even know Harry Potter stamps were a thing! :O! I am a Slytherin (go figure lol) with a calico cat for a patronus - however if I had done the house sorting properly I'd probably be in Huffelpuff or Ravenclaw. Take care!
